I absolutely love all things Canada, but Alberta and the Rocky Mountains hold a special place in my heart - the scenery there is simply breath-taking. I’ve now been lucky enough to experience the Rockies three times, each trip just as unforgettable as the last.

For me, the best way to explore this incredible region is by self-drive. The roads are quiet and easy to navigate, making the journey stress-free and giving you the freedom to stop whenever something catches your eye - and trust me, it will! From turquoise lakes to snow-capped peaks, there are countless moments where you’ll want to pull over and just soak it all in.

On my travels, I’ve had some amazing wildlife encounters too. One of the most memorable was watching a mother black bear cross the road with her three tiny cubs - a magical sight I’ll never forget. Experiences like that really capture the wild, untouched beauty of Canada and make every trip feel so special.

I am a huge Disney fan, and whether it’s Disneyland Paris or Walt Disney World Florida, the excitement and fun is always just as big! From extravagant parades and bumping into your favourite characters, to the thrill rides ranging from the spinning teacups to Thunder Mountain, no detail is ever spared when it comes to the Disney parks.

I first visited Finnish Lapland in 2016 on a short educational trip with work (before I had children), and I’ll never forget the truly magical experience. From the mischievous elves who greeted us on arrival to the reindeer waiting outside the airport in the snow-covered resort, it felt like stepping straight into a Christmas story.

Lapland holidays are packed full of once-in-a-lifetime experiences: visiting Santa in his secret cabin, snowmobiling through snowy forests, tobogganing, and even the chance to witness the breath taking Northern Lights. It’s an unforgettable destination that captures the magic of Christmas in every moment. Yes, these trips can be on the pricier side, but trust me, they are worth every single penny!

Since having my son Archie, I couldn't wait to share this experience with him, seeing the magic of Lapland through his eyes made it even more special. The excitement, wonder, and pure joy that children feel here is something you’ll treasure forever as a parent. We did a day trip to Swedish Lapland, which offered a more traditional resort feel while still packing in all the festive activities that make this destination so unique. The day trip is great value for money!
