The Hays Travel Foundation has donated £750 to the British Disabled Angling Association (BDAA) to provide fisheries with disabled access platforms.
BDAA offers inclusive fishing opportunities for disabled children, young people and adults throughout the North East. Fishing is the nation's most popular participating activity and around a fifth of all people who would like to go angling have a disability or health issue that affects their physical activity.
BDAA provides adaptive fishing equipment includes electric reels, rod/reel holders, special mounts, knee braces etc. to assist people with one arm, upper body mobility issues, visually impaired, or stroke effected anglers. The funds provided by the Hays Travel Foundation will pay for one single access platform.
