Hays Travel Brighouse organised a fundraiser on Brighouse’s 1940s Weekend in aid of Overgate Hospice. Overgate Hospice provides specialist care and loving support to people with life limiting illness and their families, through their expert team who ensure that people in their care can maintain their independence and dignity.
The branch chose Overgate Hospice as this is a charity that is close to the branch’s heart, and also as the Hospice are currently undertaking the Big Build project which will allow the needs of the community to be met, and ensure that every patient receives the compassionate care they deserve.
To help raise funds, the branch set up a stall outside of the branch on the 1940’s weekend as they knew that this would be a great way to raise funds with the high footfall in the town. On the stall, the branch had a cake sale where they sold baked goods whilst dressed in 1940s attire. In total, the branch managed to raise £455 which will help to develop the services at Overgate Hospice.
