Itinerary
Days 1-2: UK - Saigon
Fly overnight from the UK to Saigon. Enjoy a welcome dinner.
Day 3: Saigon
Visit the Cu Chi Tunnels this morning. When you return to Saigon, visit the Notre Dame Cathedral and War Remnants Museum.
Day 4: Saigon - Phan Thiet
Enjoy more sightseeing in Saigon before your first rail trip on the Reunification Express route - a 4-hour journey to the coastal town of Phan Thiet.
Days 5-6: Phan Thiet - Dalat
Enjoy a morning at leisure before a driving to Dalat with its gorgeous tea-covered hills. In Dalat, visit the Art Deco-style Summer Palace and ride the vintage train to Trai Mat.
Day 7: Dalat - Hoi An
Stroll through Dalat’s Flower Gardens before travelling to Hoi An, known for its charming ochre-coloured buildings.
Day 8: Hoi An
Enjoy a walking tour of Hoi An’s Old Town and stop by a traditional house to learn about a local practice of healing through martial arts.
Days 9-10: Hoi An - Hue
Enjoy a cooking class at an organic farming community in Tra Que. Jump back on the Reunification Express for a 2.5-hour journey to Hue, soaking up the views of one of the most beautiful rail journeys in the world. In Hue, explore the Imperial Citadel, home to the Forbidden Purple City, and cruise the Perfume River.
Day 11: Hue - Hanoi
Fly to Hanoi and spend the day exploring the Ethnology Museum, Ngoc Son Temple, and Old Quarter by cyclo.
Days 12-13: Hanoi
Enjoy more sightseeing in Hanoi, including the Ho Chi Minh Quarter and his Mausoleum, before boarding the train to Ninh Binh.
Day 14: Ninh Binh
Nicknamed ‘Halong Bay on land’, soak up the incredible sights of rural Ninh Binh with a small boat cruise along the river.
Days 15-16: Halong Bay Cruise
Embark on an unforgettable two-night cruise on the limestone peak-studded waters of Halong Bay.
Day 17: Haiphong to Hanoi
Disembark to visit the port city of Haiphong with its leafy boulevards and French colonial-era architecture. Then board the Reunification Express route back to Hanoi.
Day 18: Hanoi - UK
Transfer to the airport for your flight back to the UK.
