This fly-drive adventure starts as you land in Atlanta, pick up your hire car, and spend two nights exploring the city’s famous sights. Hit the open road with one to three-night stays in Birmingham, Tuscaloosa, Indiana, Memphis, Florence/Muscle Shoals (with a stop en-route in Elvis Presley’s birthplace Tupelo), and Huntsville. Atlanta, Georgia – Two Nights

Atlanta is South-eastern USA’s vibrant, cultural hub. Get an insight into the first steps towards civil equality at Martin Luther King, Jr National Historical Park. Be president for a day at Jimmy Carter Presidential Museum and Library. Check out the sharks at Georgia Aquarium. Explore the ‘Real Thing’ at World of Coca-Cola. Birmingham, Alabama – Three Nights

Drive to the ‘Magic City’ of Birmingham. Learn about the city’s part in the Civil Rights Movement at Birmingham Civil Rights Institute. Delve into Birmingham’s pig iron industry at Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark. Admire Vulcan Park’s Vulcan statue. Go shopping at The Outlet Shops of Grand River and The Summit. Tuscaloosa, Alabama – One Night

Visit cultural gems like Jemison-Van de Graff Mansion and Paul W Bryant Museum. Head to scenic Lake Tuscaloosa for boating and fishing. Indiana – One Night

Indiana is your next overnight stopping point. Take in the waves at Porter’s Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. Enjoy family fun at Santa Claus’ Holiday World & Splashing Safari, Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo, and Bloomington’s WonderLab Museum of Science. Visit Indianapolis’ Indiana Motor Speedway Museum and Indiana State Museum. Tour Madison’s Lanier Mansion and Elkhart’s RV/MMV Hall of Fame. Memphis, Tennessee – Two Nights

Your road-trip continues with a duo of nights in Memphis on the Mississippi River. Tupelo, Mississippi (Visit)

You can experience bison, zebras, and giraffes at Buffalo Park and Zoo and Civil War history at Tupelo National Battlefield.

Florence/Muscle Shoals, Alabama – Two Nights

Drive into Florence/Muscle Shoals on opposite sides of the Tennessee River. Ivy Green showcases the life of author and political activist Helen Keller. Music fans love Alabama Music Hall of Fame and W.C. Handy Birthplace, Museum, & Library. Glimpse into the past at the Edith Newman Culver Memorial Museum. Hike through Shoal Creek Preserve and spot Bald Eagles on North Alabama Birding Trail. Watch shows at The Shoals Theatre and savour local farm-to-table fare and award-winning barbecues.
 
Huntsville, Alabama – One Night
