Two Nights – Birmingham

Drive to Birmingham, Alabama in the foothills of the Appalachians. Birmingham’s role in the Civil Rights Movement is commemorated at the Birmingham Civil Rights Institute. Learn about the city’s pig iron industry at Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark. 

Catch a Birmingham Barons game at Region’s Field. Indulge in retail therapy at The Summit and The Outlet Shops of Grand River. Enjoy shows at the Alabama Theatre, opera and ballet at the Lyric Theatre, and tasty dining at Birmingham’s trendy bistros and chic cafes.

Two Nights – Shoals

Hit the open road and drive towards Shoals on the left bank of the Tennessee River. Feel the spirit of the musical greats at Alabama Music Hall of Fame and FAME and Muscle Shoals Sound Studios. Hike through Muscle Shoals Reservation’s woodlands and native plant garden.

Visit Ivy Green, once home to Helen Keller, the famous political activist, disability rights activist, and lecturer. Feast on traditional food favourites at the Garden Gate Café or combine a bite to eat with great music at Rattlesnake Saloon.

Three Nights – Nashville

The final stop on your road trip takes you to the ‘Music City’ of Nashville. Country music comes alive at the Grand Ole Opry, Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, RCA Studio B, and Johnny Cash Museum. National Museum of African American Music celebrates music from African Americans.
