Two Nights – Birmingham

Board the AMTRAK train for a journey to the ‘Magic City’ of Birmingham. Delve into Birmingham’s pig iron industry at Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark. See Vulcan Park’s Vulcan statue. Get hands-on at McWane Science Center. 

Learn about the city’s part in the Civil Rights Movement at Birmingham Civil Rights Institute. Go shopping at The Summit and The Outlet Shops of Grand River. Relish “The Dinner Table of the South” at hip bistros and chic cafes and tasty craft brews at local taprooms.

Two Nights – New Orleans

Embark the train bound for your final destination - ‘The Big Easy’ of New Orleans. Wander the streets of the French Quarter. Sail along the Mississippi River by steamboat. Experience the carnival atmosphere of Mardi Gras World. Pay a visit to Jackson Square with its St Louis Cathedral.

Take a streetcar ride through the Garden District and Uptown. With 1,000+ eateries you can dine your way around the globe and feast on Cajun and Creole favourites like Gumbo, Jambalaya, and Beignets. From Bourbon Street to Frenchmen Street the city comes to life after dark!
