CINCY Region is “where the North meets the South” and “where beer meets bourbon.” The North literally meets the South in Cincinnati, with the Ohio River as the dividing line between Kentucky (South) and Ohio (North). It’s a great place to relax, have fun and enjoy great food with a cool vibe, all washed down with a glass of something local, whether it’s bourbon (Northern Kentucky is the start of the famous Bourbon Trail) or beer (Cincinnati is home to numerous craft breweries).

Over time, the bootleggers turned to gambling, running casinos, horse tracks and country clubs with slot machines, attracting celebrities such as Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, not to mention legendary gangster Al Capone.

Finally, if you fancy a visual feast, the Cincinnati Art Museum includes works by Van Gogh, Monet and Picasso, giant murals from today’s cutting-edge artists can be seen throughout Downtown and designs in neon dazzle at the American Sign Museum. Alternatively, there’s family-friendly fun to be had at Cincinnati Zoo, Newport Aquarium and Kings Island theme park or on relaxed Ohio River cruises. And, of course, catching a Cincinnati Reds baseball game is a must.

Bourbon takes centre stage in Louisville. These new distilleries join the already established, one-of-a-kind, attractions on Museum Row in downtown Louisville, such as the Louisville Slugger Museum, Frazier History Museum and the Muhammad Ali Center. Thoroughbred horses, another iconic feature of Kentucky, are the stars at legendary Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby.  This most famous race is celebrated every day at the Kentucky Derby Museum which sits adjacent to the track. 

Meanwhile, the Belle of Louisville, the oldest operating steamboat still in existence, adorns the city’s scenic waterfront.  And Mega Cavern takes you underground in a historic limestone quarry for adventures from historic tours, to the worlds only underground zip line and bike park. Add all of these attractions to Louisville’s award-winning culinary scene, and it’s easy to know why Kentucky’s largest city is becoming one of the “must see” travel  destinations.
