Lara Beach’s long stretch of golden sands not only boasts a Blue Flag but it’s also perfect for sunbathing and the offshore waters are great for swimming and water sports like jet-skiing, parasailing, kite-surfing, and banana boat rides. Indulge in retail therapy with big-name brands at TerraCity Mall and Sultan Bazaar or shop for bargains and locally-made products at Saturday’s Lara Street Market. Wander around the hundreds of Sandland (Antalya Sand Sculpture Festival) exhibits based around an annual theme such as mythology, fairy tale heroes, sea legends, and world wonders. Keep your camera handy to capture the awe-inspiring vistas on a hot-air balloon ride in Cappadocia or take in the views on a thrilling tandem paragliding flight from Mount Olympos near Kemer. Journey back to the Roman era at Ephesus’ Library of Celsus and Temple of Hadrian and explore the iconic Hagia Sophia Mosque, Topkapi Palace, and Blue Mosque in Turkey’s largest city, Istanbul.
