Day 1: UK - Venice
Arrive in Venice and transfer to your hotel. The rest of the day is at your leisure.
Day 2: Venice
Today, explore Venice on foot with a guided walking tour revealing many famous sights including Doge’s Palace, built in the Venetian Gothic style, and the legendary Bridge of Sighs.
Day 3: Venice
Today will be the day to put your research skills to the test and discover Venice for yourself as you spend the entire day at leisure.
Day 4: Bologna
After breakfast, leave Venice and drive to Bologna for a guided tour. Sights include the Piazza Maggiore, San Petronio - the world’s fifth-largest Basilica, Piazza del Nettuno, The Garisenda Tower, and Europe’s oldest University.
Day 5: Tuscan Countryside
After breakfast, explore rural Tuscany, stopping at Volterra, an imposing town with immense stone ramparts perched dramatically on a hill offering panoramic views. Then drive on through the countryside to San Gimignano, one of Italy’s most beautiful villages.
Day 6: Florence
This morning, drive to Florence where you’ll have a guided walking tour as well as some free time to explore.
Day 7: Siena
After breakfast, take a short drive to Siena for a guided tour. Once one of the finest medieval cities in the world, and during the 12th and 13th centuries, one of the richest!
Day 8: Perugia
Embark on a tour of the bustling university city of Perugia, which uses an escalator system to connect the lower town to the historical core above. Enjoy some free time to explore as well.
Day 9: Orvieto
Today explore Orvieto, whose ancient ruins lie in eerie underground caves.
Day 10: Rome
Take a sightseeing tour of ‘the Eternal City’ visiting the most famous and historic landmarks such as the Pantheon, Trevi Fountain Piazza Navona, Spanish Steps, and Piazza di Spagna.
Day 11: Rome
Enjoy a free day to explore Rome as you wish - and there’s lots to see!
