Fuerteventura Holidays

Laid-back afternoons and beautiful beach days await on a holiday in Fuerteventura.

Holidays in Fuerteventura

A beach-goers paradise, Fuerteventura is the beach capital of the Canary Islands. Whilst the young lively crowd jet off to the party resorts on Tenerife or Gran Canaria for their fix of nightly fun; Fuerteventura is alive with families and couples looking for that mix of activity and relaxation.

Where is the best place to stay in Fuerteventura?
Fuerteventura has two firm favourite resorts - Caleta De Fuste and Corralejo. Built with families in mind, the lively resort of Caleta De Fuste has everything you could need, right on your doorstep. Explore the chic harbour, lounge on the white sand beaches, or grab a bargain at the local market. From bright turquoise seas and amazing hotels to shops and restaurants galore - you’re never too far from the action.

Head further north for the contemporary Corralejo which is Fuerteventura's most popular resort, with seven miles of sandy beaches and plenty of chilled bars, karaoke clubs, and restaurants. The nightlife on the island is laid-back, making it ideal for families. However, there are several nightclubs in both resorts for younger visitors too.

THINGS TO SEE AND DO IN FUERTEVENTURA

With endless rolling sands, quiet waters, and pockets of rippling waves, holidays on this island are all about the shoreline. But there's plenty to keep active guests busy. Choose from a huge selection of water sports like snorkelling, surfing, and kite surfing. Set sail on a lazy boat trip to watch dolphins and whales in their natural habitat. Or take a trip to the neighbouring uninhabited Lobos Island where you can swim in tranquil lagoons.

Away from the coast, explore rugged landscapes and whitewashed villages. Play golf, try quad biking adventures, or fast-paced jeep safaris through the desert suns. For a family fun day out, visit Oasis Park, one of the most amazing animal parks in the Canaries.

FOOD AND DRINK ON FUERTEVENTURA

Like the other Canary Islands, Fuerteventura’s traditional cuisines combine Spanish influences with those from Latin America and Africa. You're most likely to find food like this in small local restaurants and villages throughout Fuerteventura. On the island, you’ll find the famous Majorera goats. Most common recipes use their meat to create tender flavourful dishes - a must-try for meat lovers.

In the main resorts, international dishes are the order of the day, with a great choice of Chinese, Italian, Indian, and British restaurants for tourists to indulge in. Sample the local volcanic wine or try Spanish-style tapas and sangria.
