Days 1-2: UK - Delhi
Titan’s VIP door-to-door service collects you from home for your overnight flight. On arrival in Delhi, spend some time at leisure.
Day 3: Amritsar
Fly to Amritsar, and transfer to your hotel with time to relax. This evening, experience the ‘putting to bed’ (Palki) ceremony.
Day 4: Amritsar
Head back to the Golden Temple to explore. Walk the bazaars of the city and visit Jallianwala Bagh. There is also time to admire the Durgiana Hindu temple. An included excursion to the India/Pakistan border town of Wagah showcases the pomp and pageantry of the Lowering of the Flag ceremony.
Day 5: Dharamshala
From Amritsar, drive to Dharamshala, surrounded on three sides by snow-capped peaks. The town owes its fame to, His Holiness, the Dalai Lama.
Day 6: Dharamshala
A sightseeing tour of Dharamshala includes the residence of the Dalai Lama and the Norbulingka Institute. Visit the Tibetan Children’s Village, a boarding school where orphans are provided with a Tibetan education, clothes, food, and healthcare.
Day 7: Pragpur
Drive to the village of Pragpur via a tea plantation and tea factory, where you’ll learn about the plucking and processing of Kangra tea. This afternoon, enjoy a walking tour of Pragpur’s cobbled streets.
Day 8: Shimla
Next on your Himalayan holiday is Shimla, ‘Queen of the Hills’ and the summer capital during British rule in India.
Day 9: Shimla
A scenic rail journey aboard the Himalayan ‘Toy Train’ transports you from Shimla to Taradevi. Later, visit the Jakhu Temple dedicated to Hanuman, before a walking tour of Shimla. Then, head to the Elizabethan style Viceregal Lodge, before strolling around the colourful mall.
Day 10: Shimla
Enjoy a day at leisure.
Day 11: Chandigarh - Delhi
Travel to Chandigarh, stopping for lunch en route. At Chandigarh station, board the Vande Bharat Express to Delhi.
Day 12: Delhi
See the best of Delhi, ‘Old’ and ‘New’ by visiting the 12th century Qutub Minar minaret and the garden-tomb of Emperor Humayun, amongst other things. Visit Raj Ghat, the memorial to Mahatma Gandhi, and the Jama Masjid, India’s largest mosque.
Day 13: Delhi - UK
Transfer to the airport for your return flight. Upon arrival, your Titan vehicle will be waiting for the journey home.
