By the late 18th century, New England’s British colonies demonstrated ambitions of independence from the British Crown; notably in 1773’s Boston Tea Party. The American Revolutionary war broke out in 1775, and the Declaration of Independence was signed and adopted on 4 July 1776. New England in the Fall

New England in the Fall

Fall paints New England in a myriad of vibrant colours!
Autumn/Fall is when New England’s sugar maples burst into fiery colours from scarlet and gold through to bright orange. Mother Nature runs to her own schedule, but our tip is to travel north to south when chasing the colours. Peak colours are first visible in the northern states of Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont, heading into Massachusetts, Connecticut and Rhode Island. Beginning around mid-October for a 2-week golden window to see the colours at their brightest. Maine sees the initial peak in fall colours due to its cooler temperatures and northern location, the colours are magnificent across all six-states and are a once in a lifetime sight to be seen as they move southwards. And, of course, the best ways to get a bird’s eye view of the fall foliage is from a chair lift or hot-air balloon or why not hop aboard the Lake Winnipesaukee Foliage Train in New Hampshire?
