Day 1: Arrival in Luxor – Embarkation

Welcome Aboard! Your journey begins in Luxor, the ancient city often called the "world’s greatest open-air museum." Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted by a friendly crew and transferred to the Steigenberger Minerva.

After settling into your stylish cabin, you can enjoy a relaxing evening on the ship’s sun deck or lounge with a drink while watching the sunset over the Nile and indulge in a delicious welcome dinner featuring Egyptian and international cuisine.

Day 2: Luxor – West Bank Highlights

After an evening getting to know your fellow cruisers, your first day sees you get stuck into the legends of Egypt. After breakfast, begin your first day of exploration with a visit to Luxor's West Bank, home to the iconic Valley of the Kings. Explore the tombs of ancient pharaohs, uncover the Colossi of Memnon, and see the majestic Temple of Queen Hatshepsut.

Enjoy a leisurely dinner on board, sip afternoon tea on the sun deck, then unwind with a cocktail as the ship sets sail toward Edfu where it will spend the night.

Day 3: Edfu & Kom Ombo - Temples of the Gods

Today you visit the magnificent Temple of Horus also known as Edfu Temple, one of the best-preserved temples in Egypt. Admire the impressive pylons, towering statues, and detailed reliefs depicting Horus, the mythical son of Isis, and other ancient gods.

After your temple visit, relax on the ship as it sails along the Nile towards Kom Ombo. Here you have free time to explore the unique Temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated to two gods—Sobek, the crocodile god, and Haroeris, the falcon-headed god. Once back onboard, continue your Nile journey as the ship sails south toward Aswan, Egypt’s southernmost city, famous for its stunning Nile views and Nubian culture.

Day 4: Aswan – High Dam & Philae Temple

Aswan is Steigenberger Minerva’s home for the whole day. After breakfast, disembark to visit the Aswan High Dam. Next, take a trip to the beautiful Temple of Philae, dedicated to the goddess Isis before enjoying lunch back onboard.

If you are up for more adventure, you can embark on a relaxing felucca ride to take in views of the Agha Khan Mausoleum and Elephantine Island as you sail along before returning to the ship for dinner and a traditional Nubian Show. 

Day 5: Aswan – Onboard Relaxation

Today, you can enjoy Egypt at your leisure. After a trip to Abu Simbel Temple, you can relax on board and take advantage of the ship's stellar facilities with an afternoon and evening of free time.

Day 6: Sailing Back to Luxor – Scenic Nile Cruise

Today, you’ll begin the scenic journey back to Luxor. As the ship cruises the Nile, take in the serene landscape of rural Egypt—lush banks, ancient temples, and small villages. You can relax on the sun deck or read a book in the lounge. After a quick stop back in Kom Ombo and Edfu for some optional final temple visits, the Steigenberger Minerva makes her way to Luxor. 

Day 7: Last Hurrah in Luxor

This morning you arrive in your final port – Luxor. Spend the morning on the East Bank visiting the spectacular Karnak Temple and your evening indulging in a farewell dinner aboard the ship, with Egyptian specialities and live music. Tonight, you have the chance to see the art of Belly dancing and a Dervish Show- the perfect end to your time in this extraordinary country.

Day 8: Departure Day

After a delicious breakfast, check out of your cabin, disembark and transfer to the airport for your flight home, filled with memories of an unforgettable Egyptian adventure.
