Staff Educational: P&O's Arcadia

Erin from our Social Media team enjoyed a cruise from Liverpool to Southampton with P&O Cruises, Arcadia. Here’s what she got up to:
“I had never thought about booking a cruise until spending time onboard P&O Cruises Arcadia! In August I got to spend my bank holiday onboard this beautiful ship which completely changed my perspective on cruises. Arcadia was my first cruise and I loved spending the weekend seeing what she had to offer!
Day 1
Embarking the ship was an absolute breeze and in no time we had checked into our rooms. We soon regrouped in The Screening Room to properly introduce ourselves to the group of other travel agents who were also on the educational trip. This was followed by a guided tour around the ship before being allowed to go and explore by ourselves and get ready for the evening.
The first evening onboard was the formal night where we all gathered at The Crow’s Nest bar for a drink before going to dine in the main restaurant, Meridian. I decided to have the Caesar Salad for my starter, followed by the Grilled Prime 5oz Beef Sirloin Steak for my main and dessert was a Baked New York Cheesecake. The staff were all so attentive and the food was absolutely delicious. After dinner, we made our way to The Palladium Theatre to catch the end of a show before heading back to our cabins for bed.
Day 2
The next day was a full day at sea. The morning started as I headed for breakfast in The Belvedere, the onboard buffet restaurant. I met up with the other agents on board and enjoyed a Pain Au Chocolat and some cereal. Once we had our breakfast and coffees, we headed back to our rooms to get ready for the day and shortly regrouped in the Viceroy Room to learn more about the ship and what it had to offer!
After our meeting we spent the remainder of our time on the ship exploring and socialising. For lunch I headed back to The Belvedere, where there were many options available for all dietary requirements and/or preferences throughout the day. I chose the spaghetti and meatballs with some garlic bread for lunch before heading back for a slice of chocolate cake!
I also had the opportunity to use some of the facilities during the day, such as the pools, jacuzzi, library, and bars. I took the chance while I could and had a relaxing 30 minutes in one of the jacuzzis at the Neptune Pool.
The second night onboard, we went to the Ocean Grill restaurant where we had dinner – my opinion may be biased as a seafood lover, but it was definitely came first place as my favourite meal on Arcadia! I ordered the Grilled King Scallop and Octopus for my starter followed by the Grilled Maine Lobster as my main meal and for dessert I had Eton Mess. We all lost track of time whilst getting to know each other, so we promptly headed back to our rooms after dinner, ready for another early morning start.
Day 3
Morning arrived and it was finally time for me to disembark the ship at 8:00am which was a lot simpler than I expected! Once I was back on land, I made a short journey to Southampton train station to begin travelling back home. But not before first stopping off in London to grab some lunch!
Overall, my short stay on Arcadia was truly a wonderful one and I will definitely be booking another cruise in the future. The food was outstanding, there were so many activities onboard for people to do and not forgetting the staff who made me feel right at home during my stay. I would definitely recommend her to any adults looking to go on a cruise!”
