Hotel Spotlight: The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas

Las Vegas is the home of wonderful and wacky experiences where unforgettable memories are expected and luxury hotels are standard. After all, where else in the world can you see the Eiffel Tower, ride a rollercoaster through the Big Apple, gamble inside a Egyptian pyramid and finish the day with a night out at the circus; all within walking distance of your hotel? With so much to do and see, choosing the right accommodation is a huge part to ensuring your stay in Las Vegas is truly one-of-kind.
Charlotte, from our Social Media team, recently stayed at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and had such an unforgettable experience she couldn’t wait to share her highlights of the hotel!
“Deciding what hotel to stay at in Vegas is a task in itself, with so many iconic, top rated hotels all in one place, we were spoilt for choice. We chose the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas as its located right in the heart of the Strip and provided the modern luxury experience we were looking for.
We arrived at the Cosmopolitan in our hire car, the car park is located below the hotel and complimentary for hotel guests, this was an added bonus and a cost we didn’t need to factor into our budget.
Upon arrival at the Cosmopolitan we were wowed by the glittery black marble paired with the cool purple colour scheme, it just felt very swanky and cool. There was lots of unique, quirky art work and sculptures all across the hotel.
We stayed in a Terrace Studio with Fountain View and I have to say, this was the best hotel room I have ever stayed in, in my life! There was a spacious lounge area, comfortable king sized bed, large bathroom with a sunken Jacuzzi bath and spacious shower cubicle, but that’s not it… we also had a balcony with spectacular views of the Bellagio fountains! The Cosmopolitan is one of the few hotels in Vegas that offer balcony rooms and I would highly recommend upgrading to a fountain view room – you won’t regret it! The room had its own electronic tablet which you can use to book reservations at restaurants, view their menus and order room service. This was a great added touch.
The Cosmopolitan is right in the hustle and bustle of everything; surrounded by some of the iconic Vegas hotels including the Bellagio, Paris and Caesars Palace within walking distance. We could see the Venetian, Flamingo and Treasure Island from our balcony, although they looked not too far away, don’t let this deceive you as things are a lot further than they look and you can still do a fair bit of walking along the Strip. Luckily, we had our car and it was a quick 10 minute drive to the Venetian (which also had free parking) where we explored that area of the Strip too.
There are three distinct pool experiences to enjoy at the Cosmopolitan. The Boulevard Pool: where you can listen to upbeat music and enjoy a vibrant social scene. The Chelsea Pool: an ultimate relaxation zone where you can take a break from the hustle and bustle of the Strip. And finally the Marquee Nightclub & Dayclub; here you could enjoy sets from the best DJs from around the world.
In amongst all the liveliness of Vegas we definitely needed a day relaxing by the pool and decided to visit the Chelsea Pool. We reserved a daybed which was a comfortable queen-sized mattress with lounging pillows – it was the perfect place for sunbathing. There were also sun loungers in the pool which meant we could cool off whilst topping up our tan. The cost of reserving the daybed included all of our food and drink for the day which meant we didn’t need to lift a finger and everything was delivered straight to us. It was the ultimate relaxing day.
Every Monday evening at the Boulevard Pool you can attend ‘Dive In Movies’, where a blockbuster film is shown on the giant screen above the Strip – this is free for hotel guests and only $15 for non-hotel guests. We went along and watched a showing of Black Widow from the comfort of our sun lounger in the shallow end of the pool. The pool remains open for those who want a refreshing dip whilst watching the film!
One of my highlights of staying at the Cosmopolitan was the vast choice of restaurants and so we dined at the hotel most nights during our stay. These amazing restaurants deserve a dedicated blog of their own! Keep an eye out for part 2!
